It all started when…

The Center for Women’s Empowerment:  

With donor support in 2008 from Humanity Unites Brilliance, founded by Influencer Charlie Stuart Gay, and then sustained also by the Burt Family Foundation, and the Greener Diamond, Youth Action International led by Kimmie Weeks has operated its Center for Womens’ in Liberia and Sierra Leone since 2009.  The centers have provided a wide range of vocational training courses including tailoring, cosmetology, bead making, and pastry.   In 2018, the Center expanded its programs and will provide trainings, mentorship and micro-loans to help young women grow their businesses.   Priority has been given to enhancing the businesses of women who graduated from the Center in previous years.

The College has graduated over 6,000 women by the Class of 2023.
