The Sole of Africa Campaign with Nelson Mandela & Graca Machel in Mozambique

Set up to unite the non-profit sector and private business to work together for the common purpose.

Our co founder Charlie Stuart Gay was the initial Executive Director of The Sole of Africa campaign, established by the patrons of Mineseeker Foundation under the initiative of Mineseeker founder, Michael Kendrick.

Carrying the great influence of Graca Machel, the mother of Mozambique, along with her husband Nelson Mandela, it gave great insight to the issues of how charities often resisted working together. The Sole of Africa was a campaign designed to bring organizations together. Charlie often said the experience showed him it was more difficult getting non profits to work together than Bishops to pray together, and showed him how so many non profits compete for their donor base and do not collaborate with each other in common purpose as they fear where are they getting their next dollar from.
